Charles Warren Stoddard and the artist colony in San Francisco in the '80s [manuscript], 1920.

Mrs. Sanchez's speech, read at the Iva Coolbrith Circle, 1920 October 24, contains letters between Stoddard and Robert Louis Stevenson, a poem to Stoddard by Joaquin Miller and reminiscences of many California artists including Jules Tavernier, Julian Walbridge Rix, Joseph D. Strong and Elizabeth Strong. Of interest is an account of a visit made to a San Francisco studio by Oscar Wilde.

Robert Lewis (later changed to "Louis") Balfour Stevenson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on November 13, 1850.
